Haines is a lovely hamlet:
Chilkoot Lake.
The Chilkoot Lake has a fish weir. A fish weir is a structure that allows for the fish to be counted.
In the fall the bears gather and eat their fill near a weir.
We were lucky enough to see 8 bears today.
We spent over an hour in the area and as we headed out these 4 bears walked right in front of the truck.
These are the cubs.
Momma on the fish weird heading to the middle of the weir where the fish all come thru. Easy fishing there.
Another fun video, we were stuck on the road as the bears move about. They have the right of way.
